Sourced from the Mokhinui vineyard in the Hilltops region of NSW, the vineyard has a lot of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon planted and an awesome block in the middle that is a combination of pretty much every variety that blends well with Shiraz and Cab. Here I buy Grenache, Mataro, Merlot, Malbec, Tempranillo and Petit verdot.

Being a late ripener, Petit Verdot is one of those varieties that needs a long growing season to appear balanced and approachable and the 2015 vintage was perfect for this.

The nose is a bright mix of pot-pouri, violets and red fruits, while the palate has an intensity of rhubarb, pomegranate and blueberry / fine chocolate tannins.
