Sourced from “Winbirra”, the Retief family’s bio-dynamic vineyard just outside of Wagga Wagga in the Gundagai wine region of NSW. Planted in 1997 and certified bio-dynamic in 2003, the vineyard produces well balanced wines year in year out.
What I love most about this vineyard is the hint of eucalypt that invariably is present every year. Coupled with the white and black pepper of cool-climate Shiraz, the nose smells exactly like the bush.
The palate has red fruits, tobacco and a nice balance of fruit and oak tannin at the back.
