Kate Peck is proud of her newly planted grapevines. It’s summer and the young riesling and pinot noir plants are flourishing, some with healthy emerald green leaves, some with tender new buds. This isn’t a bucolic scene in one of Australia’s many wine regions, though: Peck’s vines are in her backyard on busy Riley Street in Darlinghurst, inner Sydney.
