Feeling the squishing of grapes between your bare toes can be a barrel of fun!
Try your hand at the age-old tradition of grape stomping! Sydney’s Urban Winery is the only place in the city where you take part in wine harvest. The experience begins with a tour through the working winery where you’ll learn the ins and outs of wine production. You’ll then get to play an active part in the winemaking process from hopping in the tubs and stomping the grapes to sampling wines during different stages of the maturing process.
What’s Included?
Guided tour of the winery
Opportunity to hop in the tubs and stomp the grapes
Sampling wines directly from the tanks and barrels
Shared charcuterie and cheese platter
Bottle of wine to take home
Over four weekends in March, you can undertake this wine-lovers tour, which lasts for around 90 minutes and is priced at $100 per ticket.
And remember, if you’re going to be stepping into the shoes of a winemaker you need to dress like a winemaker. That means enclosed, flat shoes for work in the vineyard and winery, and casual clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!
