Simmone Logue Creates A Culinary Sensation for Urban Winery Sydney’s Chef X Winemaker Long Lunch
Urban Winery Sydney is excited to announce Chef Simmone Logue to host the September Chef X Winemaker Long Lunch alongside Head Winemaker Alex Retief.
With over 19 years as a winemaker, Alex has worked extensively around the world including two years running a winery in Bordeaux before starting his own label A.Retief Wines in 2008, and later opening Sydney’s first permanent urban winery, Urban Winery Sydney.
Alex sources his grapes from three contract vineyards in Tumbarumba, Gundagai and the Hilltops, the regions he felt to be the most exciting in NSW. Sticking to his philosophy ‘Always try something different and as local as possible’, Alex has collaborated with local celebrity Chef, Simmone Logue for the upcoming long lunch on Sunday 22 September.
Since emerging into the Sydney catering scene in 1990, Simmone Logue has become a much-loved name amongst Australian foodies, especially in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Between baking, blending, crafting, taste-testing and dreaming up new recipes for the Simmone Logue Double Bay Café and Simmone Logue Fine Food Catering Company, Simmone has created a delicious menu with dishes such as slow roasted lamb shoulder and orange and ricotta torte with poached blood orange and honeyed labneh.
Urban Winery Sydney is the only place in the city where you can dine with your guests amongst barrels producing our latest vintage.
Relish in a guided tour of Australia’s first true urban winery, followed by a four-course meal paired with a comprehensive tasting of the A.Retief label.
